Spring

Shows we’ve performed in the spring, including (among other things) our Spring Sci-Fi Spectaculars and Spring Adventure Spectaculars.

Jeeves & Wooster: Hijinks and Shenanigans

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Jeeves & Wooster: Hijinks and Shenanigans!

We will present original radio-drama adaptations of three P. G. Wodehouse stories featuring his iconic characters Bertie Wooster, a wealthy and idle English gentleman, and his (or her, in one of the adaptations) valet (and frequent saviour) Jeeves.

  • In Aunt Agatha Speaks Her Mind, Aunt Agatha’s pearls have been stolen, and it’s up to Bertie Wooster to recover them! Can Jeeves be of assistance?
  • In the gender-swapped Right Ho, Jeeves, Betty Wooster tries to arrange a romantic match for her good friend Gussie-Fink Nottle, whilst trying to avoid her Aunt Dahlia’s demands she host the Market Snodsbury Grammar School's prize giving event! Surely a little alcohol in the tea-totalling Gussie's orange juice can't cause any trouble?
  • And in Jeeves Takes Charge, Bertie’s fiancé demands that he intervene to prevent the publication of his Aunt’s scandalous new book! And what’s with this new man Jeeves who’s just entered into Bertie’s employ?

These three plays will be presented on stage in the style of old-time radio with actors at microphones and sound effects performed live by our talented Foley artists!

There will be six performances April 16–26, in Davis Square the first weekend, and in Watertown the second weekend. Women Behind the Curtain

Our Spring show will be the premiere of local author Michael Lin’s Cold-War spy thriller, “Women Behind the Curtain”, accompanied by our recreation of the 1948 radio play “The Outcasts”.

In Michael Lin’s original spy thriller “Women Behind the Curtain”, directed by Jay Sekora, a French spy in the Soviet Union finds unexpected allies — and unexpected enemies!

And in “The Outcasts”, directed by Kitty Drexel, a group of homeowners wonder whether prospective homebuyers are the kinds of neighbors they want — and one of them has to decide whether to risk speaking her mind.

Filibus: The Mysterious Sky Pirate and Confidence Confidant

Performances: April 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13, 2019.
(8pm performances on all dates, plus a 2pm matinée on Saturday the 6th. Thursday the 11th will be a pay-what-you-can night.)
Location: Boston Brunch Church (formerly Responsible Grace), 204 Elm Street, Somerville.

The Post-Meridian Radio Players are proud to announce our Spring show, “Filibus: The Mysterious Sky Pirate,” and “Confidence Confidant” — two adventure stories featuring daring women of disguise and intrigue!

Spring Sci-Fi Spectacular ’13

Our second Spring Sci-Fi Spectacular in 2013 was a two-parter. In Red Shift, “Crisis of the Cuddlykins”, Red and the intrepid crew of the Recalcitrant find themselves embroiled in a civil war for merchandise rights and are forced to side with either the ghastly, disgusting, nine-foot-tall shambling insects, or the bad guys. And in our original adaptation of the Atomic-age monster thriller THEM!, radiation from nuclear testing has turned ants into giant monsters that threaten the civilization that created them.
